The Women's National Basketball Association Draft took place Monday Night at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York. Their were a numerous of fans inside and outside supporting their favorite players and team. Also women college baskeball players and coaches were there supporting their teammates being drafted.

1. The first pick of the WNBA draft The Indiana Fever select Caitlin Clark a gaurd from Iowa. Caitlin Clark ended this season averaging 31 points, 7 Rebounds and 8 assist. Clark set a plethora of records this season for example becoming an all time Iowa leading scorer, Big-Ten all time scorer and Big ten career record for the most 3 pointer in one game. Clark has been a huge phenomenal player in college and is definatly ready for the WNBA. The Indiana Fever ended the 2023 season 13- 27 last year the Fever drafted Aaliyah Boston from South Carolina . It should be very exciting seeing Clark and Boston playing together in Indiana.
2. The Second Pick of the WNBA draft the Los Angeles Sparks select Cameron Brink a center from Stanford. Brink ended this season averaging 17 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Brink was named Naismeth Defensive player of the year this season after leading the league in blocks. Brink was a big help to her team at Stanford she forsure is ready for the WNBA. The Los Angeles Sparks ended the 2023 season 17-23. Brink is going to be a huge impact to the sparks.
3. The Third Pick of the WNBA draft the Chicago Sky select Kamilla Cardoso a center from South Carolina. Cardoso is coming off an amazing season with her Team ending the season 39-0 and winning the women's college basketball national championship. Cardoso ended the season averaging 14 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assist. She also was named the most outstanding player in the final four. The Chicago Sky finished the 2023 season 18-22. Kamilla is going to be a huge impact to the team with her defensive capabilities.
4. The Fourth pick of the WNBA draft the Los Angeles Sparks select Rickea Johnson a forward from Tennessee. Johnson is such an awesome player she ended her college season averaging 20 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assist. Rickea is the fourth first round produced by the Tennessee Voulnteers. She is going to be a good fit with the sparks teaming up with Cameron Brink who was drafted by the sparks as the second pick.
5. The fifth pick of the WNBA draft the Dallas Wing select Jacy Sheldon a guard from Ohio State. Sheldon averaged 15 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Also leading Ohio state to two big ten championships in a three year wingspan and she a was named second team ap all American in 2023-2024. The Dallas wing ended their season 22-18. Sheldon is defiantly a good fit for the Wings.
6. The sixth pick in the WNBA draft the Washington Mystics select Aaliyah Edwards Forward from UConn. Edwards in this season averaged 18 Points , 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Edwards is such a good player she won a plethora of awards such as most improved(22-23) and WBC coaches all American(23-24). Washington Mystics ended the 2023 season 19-21. Edwards is going to fit in with the Mystics very well.
7. The seventh pick in the WNBA draft the Chicago Sky selected Angel Reese a forward from LSU. Angel ended this season averaging 18 points, 13 Rebounds and 3 assists. She also lead her team the final four and is a phenomenal player. She has won so many awards for example 2024 wooden award , first team all ACC and ap second team all American. Reese will play along Komilla Cordoso who was also drafted by Chicago Sky.
The WNBA draft had 2.45 million viewers on espn Monday night it was the most viewed WNBA draft ever. This draft class really changed the game of women's basketball and it is very exciting to see all of them play in the league.
