Iowa Heads To the Final Four with a huge win against LSU

This game definitely led up to the hype so much on the line for both teams. The rematch from last year women college basketball championship where LSU won 102-85. This year was totally different as the No.1 seed Iowa Hawkeyes took on the No.3 seed LSU Tigers Monday night and won 94-87 to advance to the final four.

This game was so intense with so much competitiveness from both teams. Star Players such as LSU Tigers senior center Angel Reese and Iowa Hawkeyes senior guard Caitlin clark both put on a show in the Elite eight. In the first half both teams came out fighting ending the half tied 45-45. The Hawkeyes shot 50-percent from the field while LSU shot 46-percent. Clark ended the first half with 19 points and Reese with 13 points and 8 rebounds.


The second half it was down to the wire as Clark and the Hawkeyes jumped out on top to lead 58-49 on a 8-0 run for the first 6 minutes. LSU was shooting 4-6 from the three point line while LSU was shooting 2-15. Iowa then went on a 15-2 run extending the lead to by 13. During the last quarter LSU went on a 5-0 run but that was not enough to catch up to the Hawkeyes as they lead and win the game 94-87.


Caitlin Clark ended the game with 41 points, 12 assists and 7 rebounds. Clark played an amazing game and she reflects on her season as they is still in the tournament. I think just having a little silence for myself was the biggest thing," Clark said. "You're a competitor, you work so hard for 40 minutes -- just to soak it in, enjoy it, take a couple of deep breaths, because these moments go fast. My career is almost over."


No.1 seed Iowa Hawkeyes(33-4) will play No.3 seed Uconn Huskies(33-5) Friday April 5 at 9:00 pm in the final four to advance to the Championship.
